I'm going to install a 40 Gallon water heater. The gas company is asking for the BTU in the request form. What is usual BTU for it? :wall:

It depends on the Brand and model you are getting.
I know on the GE 9 and 12 years (I have 12) it is a 40,000 BTU burner, and on the 9 it's 36,000.
If you already have the water heater, it hsould have the info in the model tag.
Why does the gas company need to know?
