This question is with respect to an Ademco Vista -20PS:
I set up the panel to notify on "alarms and troubles" that it should call my pager 3 minutes after the call to the central station.
I was curious if I programmed it to notify on "open, close, alarms and troubles" if there would also be a call to the central station for open and closes or does it just send a message to the pager. I would not want to bother the central station with open and close reports. It sure would be nice to know when various persons are coming and going. Maybe it will be a pain, and then I'll end up going back to my original settings.
Thanks
Mark

Yes, that is a "global" command. It sends reports to both numbers.

Thanks for the information. I guess that I will not do the "open and close", even though it would be nice to know. Seems like bothering the central station with that kind of info is a waste.

Also, some central station companies charge extra for the increased system traffic that recording opens and closes would generate.

An interesting thing happened last nite related to this string.
I was adding a new wireless zone. By mistake I took off the cover and triggered a trouble alarm. I reset the keypad and noticed that I got a report to my pager. It was a trouble in the zone I was playing with. I had set my pager to report on alarms and troubles only. I called the central station and they never got a report of a trouble last evening. I am starting to think that the pager options may be different than what is sent to the central station. I guess that I need to test this over the weekend.
I was also looking at the programming manual. I have the *60, trouble report code, *65, Open report code and the *66 arm awaay/stay report codes set to "0". (no report) I would think if I set the pager option to send open and close reports along with trouble and alarm reports that they would work independantly. The documentation leads me to believe that I can select what to send to the central station and what I can send to the pager.

I misread your initial post. For a V-20P the pager programming is independent of the regular reporting. I somehow looked up a Vista-20se, instead.

I find it amazing that you can answer all the questions that you do on this forum. With your help and advice I have been able to get everything up and running and am now giving some limited advice to others on this specific panel based on my trials and mistakes.
