We are having a house built. We have chosen granite slab for our countertops. We are in the process of choosing a sink- I was going to go with a stainless steel undermount sink. Then I came across a granite undermount sink that looks nice. It is much less expensive, I was wondering what the faults/drawbacks are, if any?
Thanks.

This may not be the answer you are looking for, but we just installed a beautiful cast iron undermount sink (w/CaesarStone countertops). I personally do not care for the stainless look + they tend to be too noisy for my taste. We went with a white, deep, double bowl from Kohler and special ordered it through HD. The pics on the Kohler website do not do it justice - it turned out much better than we anticipated ($350, as I remember). We pulled back a bit on the counter opening (opposing their instructions) - exposing more of the sink rim.

Good Luck!!

I also recently installed a cast iron undermount sink (Kohler). It replaced a stainless sink. We have an all stainless kitchen (appliances) but we still opted for the cast iron. We were able to get a color compatible with our countertops. The sink looks good, is easier than SS to clean and is quieter.

I have the granite composite sink and love it.
