After reading many Q&A's about ugly interior brick-type walls, I decided just to paint mine in my kitchen..except for one portion that is next to the range. I think the only thing uglier than the brick is painted brick with grease n what not on it. What is good to use for a backsplash and how do I attach it to the brick? The wall space is about 2' x 6'
p.s. Where can I purchase material needed?
Thanks in advance

Depending on how smooth the vertical line is on the brick face, you could consider 4 1/4" wall tile, attached with mastic. You would have to fill all the mortar joints with thinset to bring the entire area surface to equity. Then after it dries, attach your tile, and side trim pieces, grout it and go. The grout lines will be small enough to keep clean.
Aside from that, you could always go to a sheet metal place and have them cut you a piece of stainless steel, bead the edges and punch a few holes for attachment to the brick (with stainless steel fasteners, of course).
