I have a Honeywell HE360 humidifier installed in the ducting above a Bryant furnace with the included manual humidistat and A50 current sensing relay wired into the 24VAC control circuit of the humidifier.

With the humidistat set high and when the furnace fan starts the humidifier also starts. However when the furnace fan shuts off automatically the humidifier keeps going. The only way to turn the humidifier off is to turn the humidistat down. When I turn the humidistat back up high after a while the humidifier remains off.

If I operate the furnace fan through the "Fan" switch on the thermostat the humidifier starts and stops in tandem with the fan.

I have replaced the relay with a new one and still the same symptoms occur. If I take the relay out of the curcuit the humidifer operates as expected based on the humidistat setting.

Any suggestions welcome.

What wire is the A50 wrapped around on?

It is wrapped around the common for the fan. I started with 1 coil then then 3 and still the same result. Finally gave up and put a sail siwtch in and now the system seems to work fine. A sail switch seems like a poor way of switching a circuit to me but it is the only way I can get it to work.

You run your fan on ON? The humidifier will run all the time.

I actually am having the exact same issue as the original post. A sail switch is not an option for me. Do I have a defective A50?

As you don say what units you have thereif heatpump or electric the blower will be 220v so when it turns off you can still have a 110V in the lines That can make a Hum or EAC stay on.
