I have a concrete block house that's been painted for years. I wanted to stucco it to hide the blocks. I wasn't sure if I needed to do the whole wire mesh thing and didn't know how, but guy from Lowes said I could rough up the paint a bit, put on concrete bonding adhesive, and that would get first layer to stick to the wall. I did brown coat, then finish coat, and now...
... AAAAAAAAAAUGGGGHHHHH!!!!! On one side of the house just a week and a half later, nearly half the wall has peeled off completely. It's still up, but it's not attatched to the wall. There's big cracks, and when I push, it gives because there's about 1/4 inch gap between the wall and the layers of stucco. I just finished doing the entire house. I took 3 weeks off work to get this done. What the heck do I do now? Is it all a loss? Only that wall seems to be doing this (wall that gets the most sun and probably dried out too fast?) Do I have to tear that wall off? A lot of it probably won't come offf. I'm sure some of it bonded somewhere. What about the other walls that aren't doing this?

Applying stucco over painted block is always iffy. Wire mesh would have been better although sometimes the bonding agent will work well. Obviously that one wall didn't bond. You will need to remove all the loose stucco - it can't be reattached. Basically you will need to do this wall over.
I know you said this wall got more sun but was the bonding agent applied the same - coated with stucco within the recomemded time frame?
No sense in worrying about the other walls as long as they are still bonded.
