I am very confused as to why my ceiling fan that is run off a remote with a dimmer and 3 levels for fan speed has lost power when i set the fan speed on the highest it is more like medium and then when i put it on lowest setting it turns off the dimmer and light all still work fine but the highest power is never reached we checked the remote it seems fine we installed a different fan in another room it does not have a remote. Could the new fan cut the power to the old? and how can i fix if possible ?:wall:

The fan doesn't run off the remote. The remote just tells the fan what to do. No the fan in the other room wouldn't cause this fan to run slower. It sounds as if the circuitry that causes the "high-medium-low" fan speeds has gone bad. Is there a manual way to change the speeds of the fan? Is there a pull chain for the fan? It is possible that it has been set at the incorrect mode. If there is a pull chain or separate control, it should be set at its highest setting in order for the remote to work.
