When my kinetico regenerates there is a loud squelling noise. I recently cleaned the brine tank and float as well as put in a new prefilter. The noise seems to come from the timer and or the small tubes that connect the two tanks. Is there a way to open the time and clean or service it?? Maybe that is the problem.. It sounds like something is interfeering with the water flow either out of the timer or between the takns on the top.

You may want to check to see if the brine elbow screen is plugged. It sounds like you've done about everything else having to do with the brine tank & pre filter. Does the noise occur with both tanks regenerating or one particular tank? The Kinetico has no timer but the valve head has a metering disk based on the degree of hardness you have in your water.

I have not come across the problem you describe with the valve head making that noise during regeneration. Perhaps a few of our Kinetico folks here can assist. Good luck with the fix.

I'm not sure it's a particular tank, is it normal that the tanks sound different when you tap on them. I thought they were the same until I tapped on them ans the one sounded hollow. The system is about 12 years old. The tanks are tall (4 footish).

It sounds as if you migh just have a worn seal or two or maybe even a restriction in the backwash flow control.....I would suggest calling your dealer....it is your system so if you want to take it apart feel free.....make sure you document every part removed and where they came from.:coffee:
