Is there a standard orientation layout for which way cabinet doors should open (to the left or right)?

I'm putting up cabinets across a kitchen wall which currently doesn't have any cabinets.

There will be 5 cabinets in total - far left is a single door cabinet, the next has double doors, then a single, then a double, and finally a single on the far right.

Should the doors at the extreme ends open so they rest against their outside wall, or should I be putting the single doors up so they all open the same way?

I guess I'm trying to figure out if I should try to be as symmetrical as possible, or if I should be most worried about ease of use.

I hope this question makes sense, and thanks in advance for your help!

Most cabinets I have seen have the doors installed so that when open the end doors go to the wall. This makes it so you do not have to get up to the wall to retrieve items. Left cabinet door opens to the left, right end opens to the right and the doubles have the handles together in the center. Good luck.

Thanks very much - that's what I figured, but I just wanted to check!
