Hello,

I will be installing Ikea Tundra click laminate flooring on a concrete slab in the basement. There are no moisture problems present and the slab was laid roughly 4 years ago.

I purchased a 2.47mm think underlay with the vapour barrier already attached from Home Depot. I've read that any concrete basement installation should have a 6 mil vapour barrier installed under the underlay. Is this 2 in 1 underlay sufficient or should I still go with the 6 mil barrier?

And is a slightly thicker underlay preferable for a basement install?

Thank you for any assistance.

I'd go with both, and acclimate the flooring for a couple of weeks to the higher humidity known in a basement/below grade installation. If the basement humidity exceeds 65% for long periods of time, DON'T install laminate in there, it will fail.
