Hi,
My layout is one touch/click switch to light to dimmer. I've decided to change all my R40 flood lights to R40 Floresent lighting and they are not dimmerable. So I need to replace the dimmer switch, which I tried and having problem. The dimmer had 3 wires connected, white, red and black. The one touch/click only has 2 wires connected, white and black and the switch is hard covered and only two wires are exposed. I replace the dimmer and the light works, but when trying to use the one touch/click, it does not work. I tried changing the dimmer wired to different position and did not get the correct results. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to also change the one touch/click to a regular 3 way switch?
Thanks

Do you have two light switches at different location controlling the light? It could have been a dimmer witha remote that was not connected dierct to the dimmer. You can not have a switch with only two wires and control a light light from two locations properly.
Tell more about how the circuit is layed out and all the wires in the switch boxes.

2 switches presently, and it works. 1 is a one touch/click on/off switch and the other is a dimmerable switch, both controls 1 light fixture. I open the one touch/click switch and it only has a white and black wire connected. The dimmer has black, white and a red all connected. I like to change the dimmer to a regular 3 way switch which I bought.
Thanks for your help.

A true three way switch must have three wires. This is some sort of special system. You probably need the change the dimmer to a switch made by the same manufacturer. Is there some sort make and model numbers on these switches?
