I have googled formica dealers and searched for sheets of formica and not really having much luck. Anyone know where I can just go and pick up a 8' by 4' piece of formica? What type of store etc?

Or is all this stuff always ordered and shipped?

HD and Lowes dont show much unless they have it listed under a non-brand name?

any ideas where to look?

thanks
Dharam

A countertop fabricator should be able to get you sheets of plastic laminate. A kitchen dealer that sells countertops should be able to get you sheets in any color in the brand(s) they carry. Tell them that you want it delivered rolled up. Otherwise, a large sheet is unwieldy and subject to damage.

Don't just order a "sheet" of formica, as you will find it comes in 3' widths, not 4'.

Sizes of sheets available depend on plastic laminate manufacturer, the individual product selection made, and the size needed to do the job. Formica brand in standard matte finish comes 3', 4', 5' widths x 8', 10', or 12' lengths. Any counter longer than 12' will require a seam. If making a kitchen countertop, you will need to calculate for building 4" standard backsplash, and you will likely need to order matching end caps. Folks frequently order the same laminate as on countertop or a complementary color to cover backsplash area beneath wall cabinets.
