I have just installed my new Toto toilet, which BTW I'm VERY excited about. Anyway, I slipped the vanity in just to check out the space and now I'm not sure if everything is going to look and fit right.

As you'll see in these pics, there isn't much room between the edge of the vanity and the toilet. Do you think this is going to be a problem or should I get a 30" instead of a 36" vanity?

The old vanity was 34" in length. Since the standards no longer include 34", but 30" or 36", I didn't think I wanted to lose that 4" of counter space. Unfortunately with the 36", I'm not sure if it's going to work. What are your thoughts???

I have a half bath were the toilet is real close to the wall. I think it is 15 inches from the center of the toilet to the wall. In my master I am roughing in my toilet to be 17 inches from any other wall/vanity. I think some codes call for at least 16 inches but allow 15" for tight places.

I would check to see if your at least 15" from the center of the toilet to the vanity.

I am no expert just a DIY'selfer.

In most areas, code is 15" from the center of the toilet to any obstruction (wall, vanity etc).Looks like you have that much room. From there, it is a matter of personal preference and comfort. Good luck.

Thanks for your responses!!! It sounds like my current setup isn't that far off. I measured and from the wall to the center of the bowl it's just over 15". From the center to the vanity, it's 14.5". Since I didn't get any comments like "What the heck are you thinking?" then I guess I'm on the right track. Yes, I'd prefer a teency bit more room, but I want the counter space as well and my little bathroom is only so big.

Thanks for your time guys!
