Follow up to NG Water Heater leaking at drain valve. Took the advice offered and drained the tank. Quite a job but when it is in a 100 year old hand dug basement with no drain you got to figure out how to do it best. Waited till the water cooled then used a small pump attached to the drain valve connected to a long water hose and in 20 minutes had it drained. Removed POS plastic valve, bought new brass valve, installed and wallah no leaks. Total time: 1.5 hours - Priceless. Thanks to the Majic man. I will be posting as things go along. I am a big time remodeler and just built a 2400 sq.ft. shop/apartment. Installed a Bosch Aquastar 125 NG with power venter and pre filtering, works great. My partner who is a master electrician will also be dropping by to review and post. Thanks again guys.
