Door opening is from interior laundry room to outside lightwell which is enclosed on all sides yet open at the top. The old door has been removed. Its hinges were 3.5 x 1.5, three screws, morticed 7" down from top and 11" up from bottom.
The new door is thicker: 1.75". Top half is double pane glass, bottom half is decorative wood panels.
Total door size is 74 x 30.
The new hinges are 4 x 1.75, four screws.
I don't want to mortice new hinges over old hinge mortices due to possible screw hole conflicts.
Any suggestions as to the top/bottom mortice distances? Other suggestions, opions greatly appreciated and considered. Thank you.
