I have a sliding mirrored closet doors and the track is completely rusted and corroded.

First qestion:can I sand the track and repaint it? If so what paint should I use so the paint will not peel.

Second question: If I need to replace the track where can I get it. THe doors are Stanley but i did not see a model number on the doors.
