We are building a new house and ready to run electrical. I would like to use T5 in the cove for the kitchen and great room. Have you direct experience with dimmable electronic ballasts for T5? Do they dim well (linearly), and would a standard line voltage dimmer like that made by smarthome.com insteon dimmer work with them?
My other option is to run a rope light for low level cove lighting along side the T5.
I would appreciate other suggestions as well.
Thanks

yes they have electronic ballast to dim the T-5 flourscent bulbs but they are not cheap by the way.
i think there are few ballast company do make it but my strong advise is check the ballast anddimmer to be compartable with each other otherwise it will not work.
