Outdoor Power Equipment and Small Engines - Unloader Valve

Could someone tell me the correct way to adjust the unloader valve on a pressure washer. Water keeps squirting from the relief valve (4050 psi). The pump is a GP (General Pump) #TP2530.

I'm not sure how yours is made specifically, but most are basically the same principle. If it is not unloading when it should, it is either sticking/binding, or the spring tension needs to be backed off. Some don't have adjustment screws, and a washer or shim can be removed from the backside of the spring. Some don't have any shims, and are non-adjustable. If this is the case, then yous is sticking/binding for some reason. I have had to polish them with rubbing compound before to get them to quit sticking.

the correct proceedure requires a 5000 psi gauge and a T manifold. using the 0 degree tip, usually red, run the machine and adjust to max pressure as indicated my the mfg
