My apologies for asking such a simple question. I've moved into a new house that has a couple of square recessed lights. These are different from the circular type in that there is a glass "window" between the room and the light bulb. I can't figure out how to get to the light bulb, from either the room or in the attic. Anyone know how to do this?

If it's the kind I am thinking of, the glass is held up by springs, simply pulling on the edge will drop the glass down so you can reach the bulb.

If you can't see any screws the I agree. The glass and trim are spring loaded. Grab the edges and try pulling down on it.

Ok, I thought this might be the case, but the trim/glass isn't coming down easily. I think it might be painted to the ceiling, if you know what I mean. I just wanted to ask before I forced it off.

If it looks to be painted to the ceiling, slice around the perimeter with an exacto knife before you try pulling down on it.
