My fan is only about 5 years old, but if its on for a while we start hearing an intermittanty sqeaking noise. It only lasts for a second, then silent for a minute or so, then it comes back. I didnt know if this is something fixable or do you simply replace the fan?
The blades are contiuously cleaned and free from dust. Something inside is rubbing... or (dont know).
Thanks for any help!!

More than likely it's the motor bearings. Oiling would probably help. But, depending on the design, you may have to disassemble the entire fan to get to them. In such cases, it may not be worth the trouble.
