I have a one piston small honda engine on a generator. I had to replace the plate that the push rods went through under the valve cover. I took it apart and it went back together fine but it wont run and I assume it is because I need to set the valves. What is that procedure? thanks. Steve G.

Set the engine to TDC (piston at the topmost point of travel on the compression stroke) and loosen the locknuts/set screws that hold the adjuster nuts in place, and adjust valves to spec, tighten locks, and recheck.
