how do i disable the inside button on a door knob so that it can't be unlocked but will still open the door.

If you can get to the cam on the inside stem and grind it down to where it won't activate the unlock mechanism you may accomplish your mission. I would purchase a lockset with a push and turn button setup. They can be set to unlock when the inside knob is turned, or to remain locked all the time, but will allow passage from the inside. Be aware, it will lock everytime you leave the building.
