Our recent bathroom installation includes a small electric wall fan heater which works fine ... except when we are showering when it cuts out and restarts at intervals. Is this due to the steam in the room despite the overhead extractor in the shower enclosure? The bathroom is small and the wall heater is over the door next to the shower enclosure. Should I be asking my installer for a replacement or is this cutting-out normal?

I'm surprised no one has answered this yet. Then again, I'm not sure anyone really can.

An electric heater should be equiped with some type of thermostat to shut the heater off when it reaches it's set temp. and turn it back on when the temp. drops again. If that's what's happening in your case, it's perfectly normal. On the other hand, if there is a poor electrical connection, it might also explain the symptoms described, is not normal, and needs to be promptly corrected. To start, can you tell us the make and model number of the heater?
