Howdy,
This is for a kenmore electric washer model 110.92586200. Bought in 1995 (new), had a "motor coupler" replace in 2001. The invoice has a part # but it does not correspond to anything on the original part list for the washer. The agitater barely works, it moves but not as much as it should and makes a clicking noise. As it makes this clicking noise the light in the laundry room flicks in time with the clicking noise (did not do this before). Was told over the phone by a appliance repair person that the washer is worn out and should be replaced. I am wondering if the washer should be replaced or not. If I was getting a bad advise what do you think the problem would be .... would it be the motor coupler again? Thanks, Bob

"would it be the motor coupler again?"
I have my doubts,
Usually the coupler will just snap. It wont cause the lights to dim.

I am experiencing the same thing with my model 110. I too replaced the coupler a couple of years ago (there was shredded rubber everywhere). Before that I changed a water pump (the original developed a pinhole leak). I only get the clicking noise when using the gentle or handwash cycle. This, I am thinking, is due the pause in agitator action in these cycle. I'm thinking it might be a relay, but don't know where to begin.
I get the same dimming light problem with the clicking, but I also exerperience another problem when there is an off balance load during any spin cycle. When getting up to speed, if the load is unbalanced, the machine stops and causes the GFI receptical that the machine is plugged into to trip. I find this very concerning.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Loris.

I have seen this problem before and it sounds to me like the motor is going bad. The noise you are hearing is the motor starting and stopping corresponding with the lights dimming. I am not sure what is failing in the motor but it will need to be replaced. This is a pretty expensive repair. Depending on how old the machine is, you may be better off buying a new washer.
