I have just put up new drywall in my bathroom and textured it today. I am now ready to paint. My question is this: Can I just paint over the drywall or does it need a coating of primer? If so, what kind should I get?
Also, I have installed a curved corner "track". Does this need to be mudded, textured, primered, etc.? I'm assuming so, but thought I'd ask.
I am a BIG novice when it comes to home improvement but am learning everyday! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Yes it needs to be primed
Any quality primer for new drywall should do
Remember, the primer helps the paint stick to the wall, and bathrooms are a tough environment, so get a good one
The best place for quality primer, paint, and advice, is your local Paint Shop
They tend to carry better quality products and tools, and offer better advice than a paint dept.
Whether you use Ben Moore, Sherwin Williams, or other quality paint, the shop can recommend the proper primer that they carry

I'm afraid I don't know what this is, but I'm sure someone will be along to advise you on this
Well, advise me too lol

Are you refering to bull nose corner bead? If so the lip gets mudded and the whole thing gets textured.
As slickshift said you should always use primer on new drywall [or repairs]

Yea, I was referring to the bull nose corner piece. I knew that I had to mud the side and that's what I figured but I wanted to make sure! Thanks for the info.
I'm sure I'll be posting again here in the near future! Thanks!
