I drained our electric hot water heater without shutting off the electric, and now we only get about 25 gallons of hot water out of the 50 gallon tank. Any suggestions as to what happened?

Sure. You dry fired an element. Figure out which one (prob. the bottom) and replace.


Oh, and turn off the electric before you attempt...
