Situation: Old floor is all ripped out. Tile is ready to go in. Closet Bend comes to just above the plywood floor (underneath the 1" cement board). So, the end of the Closet Bend after the tile goes in will be maybe 2" under the finished floor.
Question: How do I make up the difference? I understand the flange is mounted to the top of the finished floor. But what connects flange to the Closet Bend?

Thanks. The waste pipe/closet bend (cast iron) comes up from the basement into the subfloor of my bathroom. As I'm looking at it the pipe is prob 1/2' through the subfloor. I'm tiling up to the pipe, so after i put down the tile - the pipe will prob be about 1" below the finished floor. I was going to attach the flange (which I haven't seen yet) to the finished floor. I guess my question is: does the flange come with a pipe that extends down into the waste pipe? Or does the waste pipe need to be butted up against the flange? I've basically don't know what comes with the flange or doesn't.....thanks again.

Measure the inside diameter of the pipe. You MAY be able to use one of the flanges listed below in the link. Look at the 7th and the last one in this list. May be able to get these at a Home Center or Plumbing supply store. Good luck.
