I purchased a Honeywell digital programmable theromostat T8011R off Ebay, good price, but can not find a cross reference chart to wire it in.

I have a American standard heat pump that is wired to a manual thermostat as follows:

Red wire to R
Brown wire to T
Orange wire to O
Green wire to G
Yellow wire to Y
Black wire to X2
Blue wire to B
White wire to W

The Honeywell thermostat has the following terminals:

G
C
R
W1 (jumpered to Y)
Y
L
W2
E
B
O

Can anyone tell me the correct way to wire this up?

Y yellow

I am not sure where the black t goes to.. go back to the air handler, and take a look to see if you can make something out of it. and double check the other wires.. Please do this before you undo your old t-stat.. and if you find it, then make NOTES, and turn OFF power.

If W1 is jumpered to Y, then why would there be two wires going to this?

Anyone else confirm or help on wiring this thermostat?

I ran into this very situation and after a few hours and 3 tstats, I went directly to my Trane distributor and got a compatible tstat. I unfortunately do not remember the model.

Ok, I over looked the jumper.. That was there from the box?

Uggh...

Let me try to find something on line on this new t-stat.

Was your old stat mercury bulb? Where did you hook the brown wire to? A digital stat doesn't have a T terminal. I'm not sure but you don't nned the brown wire. I don't remember the wierd stuff that was happening when I found out.

The old thermostat was a mercury bulb. Still looking for help.

Never thought this was going to be this tough.:wall:

have you gone back to the furnace or air handler and see where what wires goes to where??

I climbed up into the attic and found the manual still on the air handler upstairs. I guess I forgot to mention I have an air handler upstairs with attached outdoor heat pump.

The manual was still attached to the unit. In the manual was a field wiring diagram for the air handler with a heat pump. The wiring diagram indicated the following:

Room Thermostat Control Box

R to R
T TO Y
O TO O
G TO G
T TO T
W TO W1
X2 TO W2
B TO B

Also, the heat pump is a American Standard Model BAYHTRN110A. Does this help?

Ok, This is what I got figured out.

T-stat-----wire color-----Air handler

R-----red----R

W2-----white----W

O------orange----O

W1 and Y-----yellow--- Y

E-----black-----W2

G----Green-----G

C------blue----B

T/Brown is not used. Tape it off.

Glad to hear it's going! I had to do a lot of drawing, thinking and figuring to make sure it worked!
