I am painting the risers and stringers of a staircase white but I noticed while sanding a few knot stains bleeding through, what is the best thing to use to hide and seal before the finish coat. I only want to cover up the knot marks ?

Prime the knots with a solvent based primer.

I'd recommend BIN, or Kilz oil-based
