Hello, I purcahased my first home last week. Before I move in, I would like to take care of a few things. One of those things is the bathtub. Currently, therer is a cast tub with a gel-coated tub wall in two pieces. Both pieces are in bad shape. The previous owner tried painting over the tub and didn't do a great job and the new paint and glaze are peeling pretty bad and the tubs not in great shape. I am considering replacing both units with a one-piece fiberglass unit like those made by Lasco. http://www.lascobathware.com/browse.pl?line=2&model=2543-GC&series=10
The big benefit I see of these units is that they are new, clean, durable and really inexspensive. As little as a couple hundred dollars from local Home Improvement store. Still, I am skeptical, does anyone have any experience with these? Pros/cons? Any advice or info whatsoever would be appreciated. Thanks.
