Hello,
I live in Toronto, Canada and own an 1350 sq. ft. home that is heated by hot water radiators. I am noticing that my hardwood floors are beginning to show some gaps between the boards. This bugs me.

We are interested in purchasing a humidifier to help with the air quality and our poor maple floors. I have looked online and seen that an ugly console humidifier should be just right. -- but when you look at the specs of these things, it seems that I will be filling the thing on a daily basis.

Are there any models of console humidifiers that have a plumbing input (like a fridge icemaker line) and a float to just fill themselves? Or has anyone modified a stock humidifier to do this?

I am looking at a Kenmore 7 gal/day ($100 can.); a Bionaire W15 that is 10 gal/day ($130 can); and a Bemis 8 gal/day ($110 can.).

Anyone had any experience with these brands? Any to avoid, any other suggestions?

thanks -Jamie

no, you are not going to find such thing..

I know it's a pain in the rear to fill these units daily. I have it in my own home.. Even tho we do have forced air, but I have no place to put one.

I can't find it off hand. but there is a "built" in type unit that build into the walls.
