I relocated the d/w from an outside wall to a new half wall and now it backs out towards the LR/DR area.I just ran it to check for leaks etc.. and it seemed noisy. I'm sure once it's enclosed some more it'll quieten down some but was thinking it wouldn't hurt to put 1 1/2" styrofoam insulation in the gap.Is that acceptable?

Also..what's the deal with the d/w "blankie".Is that there to keep heat in or stop noise from getting out?
