Model E2EB-015HA, Serial E2E000706539, 240VAC 1Ph 60Hz Intertherm Nordyne unit. Unit is 6yrs old. Used in double-wide mobile home.

Noticed when my thermostat is "off" or after my AC & heat have ran, my furnace is extremely "hot". Blower and motor area are really hot to the touch. When walking by the cubby area where it is located you can feel the heat coming from the unit. AC & heat work fine, unit just gets really hot and never cools down when idle. I switched off both circuit breakers located on outside of unit and turned off the thermostat, in fear unit could burn up or cause fire. My other unit, which controls the western side of the house is fine. I've never seen anythign like this. Any idea what would cause this. Just noticed it this morning. I keep the units clean and maintenanced regularly. Changing filters, cleaning out the dust, etc.

Thanks. I appreciate any and all help I can get.

i'm not one to tell a diy guy to go and get a tech out to solve the problem, but, in your case i suggest, i insist, stongly that you get someone out there quickly. if i were you don't run the system till the tech comes out. sounds to me that your aux heat strips are staying lite up, or the sequencer is stuck in the on posisition, or the thermo is bad. let us know of the outcome you will help many others.

Thanks Barry,
No doubt. I don't think I'm going to play around with this one. Family & home...not worth the risk. I will keep the unit off until Monday and call a Tech. I'll let you know how it goes.

Good advice Brent. Sure sounds like the heat is stuck on.
