I have a basement that was unleveled when the house was purchased. The reason for this is so that water could drain to the sides in case there was a flood. Well there was no floods for the past 12 years here.
So what my dad did was leveled off the basement with cement. The basement is very dusty now and I was thinking about using a concrete sealer to end that problem.
My question is this. If I put on the concrete sealer and want to install tiles, would it be wise to put on the concrete sealer first? Would putting on the concrete sealer have a negative effect on installing the tiles?

If you plan on tiling the slab don't seal it. The slab needs to be able to absorb water to get a good bond with the thinset.

That is correct, using sealer if you plan to later tile would be the worst thing to do.:)
