Hi,

I need to know how to replace my new heating element- coil?? on my Kenmore dishwasher....model number 665.17602301. I have the new part but I cannot figure out how to get the old one out. Thanks in advance to anyone who can assist me in this matter.

First make sure you have the breaker turned off to the D/W. Next take the lower access panel off and you should be able to see where the terminals on the old element stick through the liner. There should be a nut that tightens up against the bottom of the D/W tub for each leg of the element.
You first have to disconnect the wires from the element then remove the nuts that hold it in place.
you should be able to pull the element up and out from inside the d/w tub. There may be some sort of rubber washer on each leg of the old element. the new element should have these also if not then take the ones from the old part and transfer them to the new one. Now install the new element and go back underneath and reinstall the nuts and tighten them down. Then reconnect the wires.
