I just painted my bathroom (1 layer of primer, 2 layers of paint) and I don't like the color. It is much darker than I wanted. I want to repaint the bathroom a lighter shade. Do I need to paint the bathroom white first before the lighter shade, or can I just paint the light shade over the darker color? Will painting the lighter shade over the darker color change the new (lighter) color at all?

Welcome to the forums
No problem to change color, no need to prime. Depending on the paint used and how much lighter will determine if it will cover in 1 coat. The only way the new color will be affected by the old is if you don't get complete coverage which a second coat would fix.
