removed masking tape and found areas on the trim that needed to be touched up,question can i use masking tape on the latex newly painted walls near the trim or will the tape lift the latex paint and suggestions.

This is a possiblity that tape will lift the paint, if you have to use tape use low tack. It would be better to touch up with a brush using a sheild if necesarry.

I've always used a piece of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock when I paint trim. It's stiff enough to stay straight, and the paint doesn't bleed through it, yet flexible for uneven areas. It's inexpensive, and you throw it out when you're done!
