Last night at 9:17pm we noticed our washing machine isn't spinning out the water. Of course, this was great timing !
It's a White-Westinghouse model # LA800MXD2
I took off the front panel & set the dial to spin & turned it on. It didn't seem to get into high enough speed to spin out the water. It also had a faint smell of burnt rubber, but I looked at the belt & didn't see any worn spots or shreds from the belt. I could also hear some water draining through the p-trap, but not that much.
I don't think my model has a motor coupler. Didn't know if clothes caught between the tubs could cause the slow motor action on the spin cycle?
Also, this may or may not apply, but our 12yr old (who knows how to do laundry) overloaded the washer with clothes yesterday. Hope that's not it - it's the heavy duty model.
Please help...

The washer has a belt but even if the belt was completely removed it should not have an effect on the way the unit pumps out. This is because the pump is coupled directly to the top of the motor. You might try and put some water in the washer then put it on the final spin. Then pull the hose from the drain and place it in a large bucket. Or you can use your sink if you have one sitting by the washer. Turn the washer on and observer the water flow. It should run out at a fairly good rate. Let us know the results.

Hey all... It's FIXED !!
I took off the protective plastic ring the covers the space between the inner & outer tubs & found one of our pillow covers trying to be sucked out the tub drain !
I removed it & all is well !
btw... it was real fun trying to get the ring back on since it had 12 clips that had to lock over the outside of the tub.
Thanks for your help.
