We just found out that we have a mud floor in our dated bathroom. We wanted to rip out the old tile floor and put in new tile, however, there is no plywood, just lots of concrete. What are our options for tiling our floor. If we use a leveler and then tile over, we would have to step up into our bathroom and the marble threshold is too low. Any other suggestions??? What would a contractors tell/quote me for the job? Thanks for the advise!

Here again, you are the only one that knows what you are up against as in your other (wall tile) thread.
In the case of your floor it is possible that you can salvage the mud-base under your floor tile but if you aren't willing to put forth the effort necessary to correctly approach your wall tile situation then this tile removal from the mud floor isn't for you either.:)
No one here can accurately estimate the cost of this project sight-unseen and you should be contacting a local contractor for estimates. Any information you would get here would be a cursory appraisal and no more.:)

Sounds like your two options are either (1) tile over, which would raise the floor,
(2) or bust it out, which would be a big mess in the basement/crawlspace, install plywood subfloor, cbu, and tile.
Personally, I'd just tile over, and find a way to raise the threshold, maybe with a thin strip of wood on under the outside lip, level with the tile. Don't forget you'll most likely have to cut your door so it will fit.
However, a comlete tear-out is needed, if floor heights are a concern. Hope your basement isn't finished.

How did you determine that thee is no plywood under the mud bed? Did you bust up some of the tile and bed? Can you see the underside from the basement?
