Solid Hardwood, Engineered and Laminate Flooring - Engineered bamboo click question

I just bought 500 feet of engineered bamboo. It measures 7" X 72", T&G with plywood core. It's difficult to hold the first planks in place (1/2" off the wall) while getting the other clicked into place. Would I defeat the floating principle by putting a few nails through the tongues?

Well, if you only nail the first row then the rest of the floor can still move, expand and contract together as a whole - however that means all the expansion will go in one direction - towards the opposite wall. This may be a problem if you're in a climate where the wheather changes dramatically from season to season.

One thing you could do to make it easy to click the flooring is to push it up against the wall to connect it then when youve got it going, pull it away from the wall a little - it may be too heavy after three or four rows.

What brand of engineered bamboo did you use (and where did you get it)?

...and of course, how is it working out? I'm considering laying an engineered bamboo (floating floor) myself.
