Hi,

I just got some replacement parts from Moen to replace the inner teeth etc of the bulb assembly on my bathroom sink lever. I am having trouble twisting off the bulb part so I can reinstall the plastic teeth and stuff inside. Is there a special tool or lubricant or something I can use. Don't want to scrath the chrome finish up either.

Thanks

I cannot make any sense of what you are trying to do or fix. Is this a lever for a single handle lav faucet? Is it the lever or "lift rod" for the pop-up drain? Can you upload a picture or be much more descriptive?

OK. Sorry as I don't know terms.

Here it is:

I am replacing a part in the lever handle assembly of my bathroom faucet.
The part is a handle adaptor.
This fits into the handle hub.
It sits on top of the cartridge.
It holds the lever handle assembly together and when the lever is turned it moves the top of the cartridge turning the water off and on.
It is the cold water side.

My problem as I understand it is that the handle hub should unscrew from the handle escutchen. I cannot unscrew the two parts so I cannot replace the handle adaptor.
Is there a clip or something in the escutcheon which is keeping me from unscrewing the handle hub?

Does this make sense?
