Yes, that will work fine under a floating laminate.

What would be the best way to secure it? Nails, glue or screws?

You are supposed to screw down underlayments to subfloors, don't try to hit a joist on purpose, run it perpendicular and keep the seams all staggered with an 1/8" gap. I run beads of yellow wood glue on my jobs.

Wonderful. I got screws on a whim and will go at it trying to not hit a joist. I did lay them down perpendicular and am including a gap.
