there is one small crack in the wall that was sheetrocked in the bathroom. i was wondering how to repair it without replacing the sheetrock. and to make it look flat on a repaint job.

I am not the expert in this subject, however, I know you are going to be asked if it is a straight crack (a bad joint) or a crack in the drywall material itself. An answer to this would help. Good luck.

Assuming that it doesn't need to be taped just mud the crack [maybe twice] and sand smooth, dust, prime, lightly sand and paint - it shouldn't show.
If it needs taping it will still take the same basic steps but more mud and feathered out further.
