Hello,
I am experiencing flame rollout on my Kenmore Power Miser 9 gas water heater. Basically, when the burner kicks on I get a small amount of flame rollout.
Question… Can I make any adjustments to prevent this? My guess is there is a gas pressure adjustment somewhere on the gas control valve. This control valve also houses the temperature adjustment knob.
Thank you in advance.

I'm assuming there are no flue issues.
Most gas water heaters have two access covers. The first one protects the gas tubing from the control valve to the pilot/burner assembly. The second (usually silver in color) covers the combustion chamber. Without this cover in place, the flame will roll out a little on start-up only. Perhaps this cover is not in place correctly or missing.
