Are the hardwood at Lowes, HD, and IKEA for less than $2 per sq ft any good? My house is a old row house. Currently I have some old carpet. I don't want to spend $5+ per sq ft on the flooring. Thanks.

I've found you usually get what you pay for - especially when you get into the laminates (hollow sound, chipping, etc).
Personally, I prefer bamboo [url=http://NO ADVERTISING LINKS ALLOWED IN FORUMS/url]. And it's the same with those products.
