I always figured that Sanyo made AM/FM radios, but I now own a house that has a Sanyo split system heat pump for the lower level heating and A/C. Here's the problem:

When I turn on the unit, the fan outside starts up and then I hear about a 3 second electrical buzz. This buzz kicks in about every 60 seconds. Unit still heats my basement but takes forever and never really gets past 66 degrees. Any ideas what this could be? The model number is KHS1822

Thanks in advance for any advice.

it may be heating only on electric heat, the buzzing could be the compresser not being able to start and cutting off on over load if you have an amp meter you can check the compresser.

just going to be simple, where are you hearing the noise? heatpump, or the air handler?
