michealhill1,
can you tell us the type of delta fixture that you have( there are a lot of delta shower mixers out there)? maybe a photo? type of handle that is affiixed? the repair on most deltas are simple, just need the info to point you in the right direction. just a thought, go down to lowe's or home depot etc. and see if their crew can help i.d. the thing. let us know how the project is going, you may help others in the same situation.

Hi, A word of advice, don't get too strong trying to take the valve apart it's very easy to twist off the supply tubes on the valve behind the tub.
Single handle Deltas mostly are right is cold, left is hot, up is on, down is cold.
Shut the water off, remove the handle. There is a plastic piece with four notches behind the handle screwed in the bonnet, remove that. Now keep in mind the advice at the top try to remove the bonnet if it comes off great if not try heating it. I have used a torch or a heat gun it doesn't take much heat maybe a hair dryer might work. When you get it apart buy some plumber grease to re assemble the valve with. You may want to try and tighten the plastic ring bvefore you take the valve apart. That may stop the leak.
Good Luck Woodbutcher
