I bought a 15" Magnavox LCD TV for my kitchen. Great picture but due to the size of the speakers the sound is very "tinny", my solution buy an external speaker which worked and sounded great at first but know has a noticable roar or hum in the background all the time. Nothing has changed since I orginally installed it except picking up the noise. The TV is mounted under the cabinet with the speaker setting behind it, moving the speaker further from the TV doesnt help. Any suggestions?

Does the tv have monaural or stereo output jacks?
Have you verified the connections are tight and the wire is not damaged?

It is a stereo headphone jack that the speakers plug into.

If they are powered speakers, it could be a ground loop. Try plugging either into a separate outlet.
