Our living room is freezing- It's on a slab with 2 hot air supplys in celing (Yes the windows need to be replaced)- We cannot afford any type of radiant heating so I think a nice gas fireplace would be the way to go. There is a gas line not far from the living room outside wall (Same side of the house)- Since it's a slab- would I have someone tap into that gas line above ground and run it to the living room?? How hard it is to install the fireplace myself once the gas line is in?
