I have gas logs and installed glass doors for the fireplace. The flue is locked open for safety purposes. There is a significant draft that makes the room cold when the fire is out. How can I seal the leak simply and effectively?

Use "stove rope" around the gaps?
Use heat resistant caulk around the perimeter of the metal glass door enclosure?

I welcome suggestions.
